Hogs+ Earns Two Emmy Nominations for Original Films “Redemption” and “Switzer”
Hogs+, the official content network for Arkansas Razorbacks Athletics, is proud to announce that two of their projects, “Redemption” and “Switzer”, have been nominated for a Mid-America Regional Emmy Award.
“This is a tremendous accomplishment for our Hogs+ team. They work incredibly hard to build connections and tell the stories of the rich successes and history at Arkansas and these are just two examples of their incredible work” Sport & Story President Victor Vitarelli said. “We couldn’t have done it without the great partnership we’ve built with the Arkansas Athletics department. They are committed to delivering high-quality content to their fans, and we look forward to continuing to work together for many years to come.”
It marks the second time in the past three years that Hogs+ has earned an Emmy nomination, following the 2023 Emmy Award-winning “Do You Believe In Fairy Tales?” and the Emmy nominated “Resurgence.”
“Once again, our Hogs+ team has proven the quality of their work is among the nation’s elite,” Arkansas Associate AD Kyle Parkinson said. “Both projects feature incredible storytelling, reaching back into our rich history to pull a pair of great stories into our present day. Sawyer Radler, Haley Ordway and our Hogs+ team continue to add special content to our brand.”
Redemption tells the story of the 1999 Arkansas Razorback football team. A team fueled by the heartbreak of the previous year and the tragedy of losing a teammate. A season featuring one of the greatest victories in Razorback football history. Redemption serves as the highly anticipated sequel to the Emmy-awarding Hogs+ original film, Resurgence.
Redemption takes viewers on the emotional rollercoaster of the offseason, marked by the tragic death of Brandon Burlsworth, and the dramatic rematch with Tennessee – plus the never-before-told story of the afterparty on Dickson Street and what actually happened to the goal posts. The film features exclusive interviews with key players and coaches—including Houston Nutt, Clint Stoerner, Anthony Lucas and Joe Dean Davenport.
Switzer is a three-part original film series that chronicles the life and career of legendary football figure Barry Switzer, from his early life in Arkansas to his time at Arkansas and Oklahoma, and his eventual role with the Dallas Cowboys. The film explores his roots, coaching success, and reflections on his life.
The Heartland Regional Emmy® Awards will be held on Saturday, October 25th in Charles, Mo.
